UQ Research finds our lifestyle is making us sick

Professor Greg Gibson has been researching genes and how sicknesses and diseases can have an effect from them. He has found out that environmental factors actually play a great deal on how healthy our genes end up being. Gibson acknowledges that genes develop a lot slower compared to environmental changes, and so sometimes struggle to keep up.
Stress, food and the pathogens we’re in contact with all impact our health. Our genes are struggling to adapt to the big changes our lifestyles have had in such a short time, and hence susceptibility to diseases has increased. Gibson is researching which genes can make us sick, but states that even if we know the genes responsible, we still don’t know who it is that can get sick.
