Genes ' have key role in autism'

Scientists have discovered the important role of genes on developing autism, a brain developmental disorder which cause impaired social interaction and communication in early stages of human.

It was discovered that just a little change of genes in human would actually have a great effect on children in developing autism. The alternation may affect the genes that are responsible for maintaining connections between brain cells.

Researchers also found that the genome in people with autism is different from the normal ones. Some genetic variants are even found in more than half of the patients that have the disorder, and they are all being found on chromosome 5 in human, which are responsible for influencing the production of proteins that are capable for moving brain cells to correct position and making sure that they are working properly.

Even genetic variants are found to involve in the cause of autism, it is also suggested that autism is the combination result of both genetic and environmental factors in children, and there may be many other genes that are not discovered but still have great impact in causing the disorder.
