Anti-aging Gene Linked To High Blood Pressure

Does anyone you know anyone who have suffered from a heard attack, stroke or kidney failure? Well researchers from the OU College of Medicine think they may have found a gene which can reduce the risk of this illnesses by reduces hypertension. Head researcher Zhongjie Sun has found that by increasing the gene expression of the anti-aging gene klotho, hypertension can be lowered. Klotho is availale as a powder, so can be taken in a similar way to protein shakes. Scientists have been working with Klotho in the anti-aging industry since Japanese scientists discovered the gene in 1997. However this is the first study that has shown that decreased levels of Klotho lowers hypertension. All it takes is one injection of Klotho and hypertension gradually decreases for 12 weeks. The researchers are now testing whether Klotho can prevent hypertension and the effect of the gene for long periods.
